12.12, thunder road 09

one of the many events we look forward to every december took place today - the thunder road marathon. this is the day where they close off our street, as the marathon route goes right by our house, and we are stranded at home for half the day. pre-kids, adam and i started a tradition of getting doughnuts on the morning of the race. typically, we eat them out on the front porch and lament about how we *should* be doing something healthy. actually, the main purpose of the public noshing is to torment the runners. for obvious reasons, we had to move the festivities indoors this year, but had a new, willing participant - MAX. something tells me we will be back to our outdoor doughnut dining and taunting of the runners very soon.
max's doughnut of choice: powdered, bavarian cream filled. he is his mother's son (and, yes, that was supposed to have been MY doughnut!).

but first, he licks off the powdered sugar.

look! people running in the street!

no, max! you can't join them!

waving to the runners.

some friendly ones actually waved back, but not this guy.

meeting some friendly neighborhood pups.
